Microsoft Kinect for PCs

Microsoft Kinect for the XBox360 has been a great success for Microsoft since it was released at the back end of 2010. As soon as I had seen one of these in action my first thoughts where that this device and technology would be great for PC users.

It seems like I was right and not only has Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer hinted at a Kinect type device for Windows.Next at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) but as the article from the BBC highlights, is that other manufacturers are thinking along the same lines.

The chips that power the motion-capture system in Microsoft’s Kinect are being put in a gadget that works with PCs.

This will mean anyone keen to tap into the sensing abilities of a gadget resembling the Kinect can do so without owning an Xbox 360
