How to remove CTFMon

CTFMon is added when you install Microsoft Office, and while I know you can remove CTFMon using these instructions in KB282599 and its a set of instructions I have used for many a year, I came across this small free application which is easy to use. First some background for those not aware of CTFMon and what it does, this text below was taken from the aforementioned KB282599

What Is the Ctfmon.exe (Ctfmon.exe) File?

Ctfmon.exe activates the Alternative User Input Text Input Processor (TIP) and the Microsoft Office Language Bar.

What Does the Ctfmon.exe File Do?

Ctfmon.exe monitors the active windows and provides text input service support for speech recognition, handwriting recognition, keyboard, translation, and other alternative user input technologies.

So what CTFMon Remover does it to automate this for you in removing it from running in the background as if you don’t use alternative input methods its just a small drain on your PCs resources.

The CTFMON-Remover helps you removing the annoying CTFMON.EXE from your Windows operating system. The program is easy to use and displays whether the CTFMON.EXE is installed and running or not. If it was found then you can remove it within seconds. Just in case that you need the CTFMON sometime in the future there is also an option to restore the original one.

You can easily restore CTFMon if you need to and if using or switching between multiple languages you should not disable CTFMon.

Supported Windows versions:

Windows 98,ME, 2000, 2003 Server, XP, Vista and Windows 7 (including x64)
